K2 are delighted to announce that K2 Athena™ is live across the whole of Leeds! Following close collaboration with the teams at Leeds General Infirmary and St James’s University Hospital, Athena is now delivering a comprehensive solution across the maternity service to improve communication and improve patient safety.

With international reputations for expertise in a range of specialist services, Leeds General and St James’s hospitals have large and experienced maternity units that together deliver around 10,000 babies annually. Fully paperless, Athena will capture all maternity data electronically and at the point of care and, by linking seamlessly with other hospital systems and NHS Digital services, it meets the vision and requirements for today’s demanding multi-disciplinary clinical setting.

The go-live was a great success and it was wonderful for K2 to share in the excitement of this important milestone. K2 continue to work alongside the enthusiastic teams at Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust as the next phase of the project progresses. This final phase, planned for the autumn, will link Athena’s community module to offer the seamless capture of the entire pregnancy care pathway. Athena is the only comprehensive electronic Personal Health Record for women that spans the whole of pregnancy.

K2 Athena remains the market leader in its field and provides the best possible care to achieve the best possible outcomes.
