K2 are delighted to be supporting local Plymouth charity, Little Things & Co., who work tirelessly to provide emotional and practical support to families who have suffered the loss of a baby.
Founded in 2013, and originally starting as a charity providing bespoke clothing to tiny babies who had died, Little Things & Co. became a registered charity in 2016 and now provides services to include support groups, literature, a dedicated memorial garden, bespoke cribs and grave dressings, as well as providing 24-hour access to those that need help at any time. As well as individuals and families, Little Things also provides advice, clothing and support to 31 UK hospitals. Their dedication and support is an invaluable facility to those in need and fills an essential gap where available health services are under resourced.
To support their invaluable work, and help Little Things & Co. with their campaign to provide a full time bereavement counsellor for Plymouth and the surrounding areas, K2 have offered their services to help promote their cause and to provide assistance, enabling them to extend their reach and expand their capabilities. Through working together, K2 hope to help raise awareness, promote patient safety and support the case for further research and innovations that can support clinicians and, ultimately, reduce the number of avoidable poor outcomes.
LeighAnne Wright, founder of Little Things & Co., said of the new partnership, “Little Things and Co. have spent the last six years providing emotional and practical support to those suffering the loss of a baby. Primarily in Plymouth and the surrounding areas but sometimes nationally. However, we recognise there is still much work to be done. With our partnership with K2 Medical Systems, a forward thinking, innovative company with a desire to improve lives, we feel we can move forward and further improve our services, and reach those who need us.
We are excited about working with the passionate team from K2 and look forward to the future. A future where bereavement care in Plymouth can be elevated and transformed.”
K2 are delighted to be in a position to assist such a worthwhile cause, and one that is so close to the heart of the whole company.
Dr Robert Keith, K2 Director, says of the collaboration, “We are delighted to be supporting LeighAnne and the Little Things & Co. Charity in their important work with families who have suffered the loss of a baby. It has been K2’s vision over the past 30 years to provide the means to significantly reduce the numbers of baby deaths that occur in the first place, but for those that do, the practical and social support offered by Little Things can help make a real difference.”
K2 very much look forward to working alongside Little Things & Co. and share their hopes that the future for those who have been bereaved will be improved through accessible care and support whenever, and wherever, it is needed.
