David Shine Incorporates K2 Medical Systems in the United States. Dave brings 20 years of experience in healthcare product development, and prior to that he was an engineer in the aero-space industry for 3 years. Before joining K2, he spent five years directing engineering, and helping grow a startup company that developed and implemented enterprise wide patient throughout products. Prior to this position, Dave spent nearly 15 years with the Corometrics division of GE Medical Systems, where he served as a Lead System Designer and Engineering Manager responsible for the development of Maternal Fetal Monitors.
Dave completed his Bachelor of Science in Computer Science at the University of New Haven in 1985, where he also did graduate work. He has authored 6 patents, 5 of which were issued for clinical innovations in Maternal Fetal Monitoring. While with GE, Dave became Six Sigma certified in the DMAIC and DFSS disciplines. K2 Proud New Sponsors of National Charity
Baby Lifeline is a unique national charity offering loving care and support to pregnant mothers and newborn babies all over the UK. Baby Lifeline celebrate their 25th Anniversary this year and have raised over £5million to help support Britain's maternity hospitals and services. The charity was set up by Judy Ledger after her personal loss of three premature babies. The charity has many famous faces supporting its work including Actor Sir Ben Kingsley, a Patron of the charity and Dame Judi Dench, an honorary Vice President.
Currently Baby Lifeline is working on a medical publishing project which it confidently expects to be of great benefit to both midwives and obstetricians. Along with this initiative, Baby Lifeline is running a series of conferences designed to address issues of vital concern in the field of obstetrics as it is an unfortunate fact that even with the advances in medical care and science today, more than 8,500 babies still die at or around the time of birth.
Robert Keith, K2 Director “Our sponsorship of the charity really does go hand-in-hand with our mission of dedication to improving maternity care for all; mothers, their babies, midwives and doctors and the hospital and community”.

Preserve your valuable CTG traces
A new service from K2...
K2 have a new CTG Duplication & Restoration Service which is quite a unique service. You may be aware that the CTG trace is often the only form of evidence of what happened during labour. These CTG traces are very precious and the paper that they are printed on fades in 5 years. K2 have developed software that reads the original CTG trace, records it and then we are able to print an exact replica or store it electronically. This ensures these valuable forms of information can be stored for a much longer period of time and can be replicated exactly.
Failure to produce the CTG in any subsequent litigation can seriously damage the chances of a successful defence, so as you can see CTG's are very valuable. Not only can K2 produce exact copies for cases but can also restore faded traces.
Here is how it works,
You send us your paper CTG original by secure mail.
We will return to you four things,
- The original CTG
- A paper copy of the CTG, on continuous z-fold paper, just like the original (not A4!)
- A digital copy on CD for you to view in group presentations
- A certificate of equivalence and authenticity, confirming that the copied CTG is faithful to the original.
For more information on our NEW CTG protection service contact us:enquiries@k2ms.com or download our PDF leaflet.

K2 Success Results in Major Move

K2's recent success with the installation of their inter-related products for quality childbirth in most of the UK maternity hospitals has meant they have had to relocate to larger premises. The new purpose built building, situated in Tamar Science Park, is state-of-the-art and built to site the most forward-thinking, knowledge-based companies, catering for hi-tech clients.
K2 will now be housed over 4 floors with the bottom floor dedicated to its production department where the superbly designed, in-house developed PC 'The Platform™' is built.
The move will help ensure K2's success continues as strongly as it has done in the past 7 years since its birth in 1999.
